Setting Up a Game
Multi-player
- One player starts the Dedicated Server executable
- All players start the Client executable, connect to the IP address of the Dedicated Server, and input their names
- Any player can then choose a map and start a new game
- Players connected to the Dedicated Server can join a game on the list of available games
- Once enough players join, or the host adds enough AI players, the game is ready to go
- All players click “Ready to Go” to launch the game
- The game works best in full screen mode
Note:
The hosting player will see a Server executable launch on their computer. In other words, a Dedicated Server allows a group of connected players to start multiple games, much like a Battle.net. The player who starts the Dedicated Server does not necessarily have to host the particular game.
Single-player
- Player starts the Dedicated Server executable
- Player starts the Client executable
- Player chooses a map and starts a new game
- Player adds enough AI players to fill the map
- Player clicks "Ready to Go" to launch the game
- The game works best in full screen mode
Note:
To play alone in a world without AI players, force the game to start by clicking the "Start Game" button in the Server exe (not the Dedicated Server exe).

Gameplay Overview

Overarching Goal
The goal of Euclidean Crisis is to destroy your opponents' Energy Cores while protecting your own.

Building Units
There are five types of units available to you in Euclidean Crisis. There is no resource gathering - your Energy Core produces units at a fixed rate. You can select the type of unit to build via the radio buttons on the right side of the screen.

Control Points
To damage a Control Point or opponent Energy Core, you must first capture a Control Point or Energy Core adjacent to it. In other words, you must advance through the network of Control Points in order to defeat your opponents. This also means your Energy Core can't be damaged if you hold all the points adjacent to it, so capture Control Points early to protect your base!
Captured Control Points increase your radar view. In addition, each Control Point you own increases your rate of unit production. |

Moving the Screen
Since Euclidean Crisis is designed for stylus use on a TabletPC or touchscreen, there are no keyboard controls. To move the screen, you can either tap the mini map, or right click and drag the screen. When using a stylus, press the button and drag to pan the screen around. You can adjust the drag speed by editing the settings.xml file.
To zoom in and out, drag the slider above the minimap. Left zoom outs, right zooms in. |

To select a group, start drawing from outside the unit selection bubbles.

Moving Units
Select individual units by clicking/tapping. To select multiple units, circle a group with a lasso-like stroke.
Once selected, units can be given a path. Click/tap anywhere inside the white highlighted region, then start dragging to draw a path for your units to follow. You can later extend an existing path by drawing from the end of the path. You can also change your mind and create a new path by drawing again from the unit's/group's white selection bubble. If a path is looped back to its starting point, the selected units will move around the path in patrol mode, until given orders otherwise. |

Unit Groups
As many as five units can be organized into a group. With groups, multiple units can be moved with the same path. However, in order to stay in formation, grouped units tend to move more slowly. Players can choose from a variety of different group formations, including 'X', 'V', and Line shapes. Group formation can be changed using the pull-down formation list at the top of the window.
Groups can also be assigned names for quick re-selection. Available labels include "Alpha," "Bravo," "Charlie," "Delta," "Echo," and "Foxtrot." To give a group a name, click the "Assign" button at the top left, then select the desired label from the named buttons. To select a labeled group, simply press the corresponding named button.
For both group formation and selection, voice input can be used in place of the screen-based UI. |

Combat
Attacking
Warships and fighers will automatically attack enemies in their range. However, if you want to focus attacks on a certain target, draw an 'X' over the desired target. A red 'X' will appear if the gesture was correctly recognized. Valid targets include a specific enemy, a group of enemies, or a region of empty space.
Special Abilities
Gravity Ships and Smart Bombs have special abilties that players must manage themselves. To use a special ability, click the red context-sensitive activate special button or use voice input. Alternatively, you can time a unit (or group of units) to use its special ability at the end of a path. While drawing a path, squiggle back and forth (until a red X appears) to set the specific location.

Strategy
- Scout early and often! Know what units you're opponent is building and respond with the appropriate counter unit.
- Fighters are most effective when they're moving. Try keeping them in sentry paths.
- Smart Bombs easily kill the sluggish Warships, but make sure to draw unpredictable paths.
- Tesla coils aren't just defensive - they can be powerful offensive weapons if used correctly!
- Unit groups tend to move most efficiently when in Line formation.
- Hide units in Nebulas to enable sneak attacks.
- Shield your units from enemy Fighters by placing them within the field of a Gravity Well.
- Visualize H-Bridge: What would Henry be doing right now? Would he really be building that Smart Bomb? I mean, come on.
