John Shedletsky is one of the original developers at ROBLOX and has been with the company for most of its life. He currently serves in the position of creative director. His principle responsibilities are: strategic feature direction, player monetization, management of the ROBLOX virtual economy, and overall product design. The other asset Shedletsky brings to the ROBLOX team is his deep understanding of the psychology and motivations of the ROBLOX player-base at large. In short, he is good at thinking like a 12-year old.
Shedletsky is the maturing face of a generation that has grown up with ubiquitous digital entertainment. At the age of 27, he has over 20 years of game development experience. One of his other games was a finalist in the Independent Games Festival in 2007. He holds an advanced degree in computer science from Stanford University.
